分布：印度、缅甸 伊洛瓦底江及萨尔温江盆地，我国云南南部伊洛瓦底江上游独龙江、大盈江、瑞丽江水系有分布。

分布：湄公河流域，国内分布于云南澜沧江流域
注：南方沙鳅Botia lucasbahi及云南沙鳅Botia yunnanensis现在都被划为Syncrossus beauforti的同物异名
